FAWA’s Excel, Powerpoint and Modelling workshop series provides students with a foundation in utilising both Powerpoint and Excel in a general sense, before delving into the specifics of each one’s use in a corporate finance context. The workshops are spread out over three weeks, with the first covering Powerpoint fundamentals and pitch book design. The second consists of learning excel fundamentals, including shortcuts and how to navigate through the platform. The series concludes with a financial modelling workshop that builds off the core skills learned in the excel workshop, and walks students through how to build a fully operational discounted cash flow (DCF) model and conduct sensitivity and comparable analyses.

Resume and Interview Workshop

The ‘Resume & Interview Workshop’ is also constructed as a series event over two weeks, with the first session covering what to expect during a banking, finance or markets interview. This primarily consists of how to prepare for the technical and behavioural aspects of these interviews, whilst also touching on some brainteasers you might expect. The second session focuses on crafting CVs, where attendees are provided with an example template resume and given tailored advice on their current resumes. The conclusion of session two sees Goldman Sachs come to UWA and provide a presentation on Goldman, banking and the programs they run, followed by a short Q&A session.
